You could win a $400,000 home!

A leading real estate company has joined the campaign to promote Warrnambool’s city centre as the South West’s leading shopping destination.

Earlier this year Warrnambool City Council announced its $1 million prize as part of the City Centre Renewal business promotion.

Now Ludeman Real Estate is offering those shopping in participating city centre businesses the chance to win a home valued at up to $400,000.

The house and land package is another great prize in a promotion that already offers shoppers great prizes the chance to win $1 million or $100,000 to spend on a car or cars at any one of Warrnambool's five major car dealerships.

Director Bruce Ludeman said he was pleased to be involved in the promotion which was part of Warrnambool City Council’s $15 million City Centre Renewal project.

“There is some inconvenience with the renewal but there’s a good feel in the street because we can see what it is going to look like,” Mr Ludeman said.

He said he had already fielded inquiries from people interested in renting vacant shops and a number of traders had been refitting their shops and taking advantage of Council’s grants to improve shop facades and access.

“It will be a new place when it (the renewal) is finished, a good place to do business in,” Mr Ludeman said.

“There is some pain but there will be gain at the end of it.”

Warrnambool Mayor Cr Kylie Gaston congratulated Mr Ludeman for becoming involved in the city centre promotion.

“It’s really important for Council to support the traders and for the traders to support each other during and after the renewal.

“It’s also very exciting to see sections of Liebig Street nearing completion. The bluestone paving looks great and once complete the street will be much more appealing and easier to move around,” Cr Gaston said.

Last month Warrnambool’s major car dealers Callaghan Motors, Warrnambool Toyota, Clinton Baulch Motor Group, Norton Motor Group or Warrnambool Auto Group, joined forces to offer a lucky shopper the chance to spend $100,000 on a new car – or possibly two.

All shoppers have to do to be in the running for one of these prizes is spend $30 at a participating business in Liebig or Koroit Street, retain their receipt then enter the competition via the link here.

One of the entries will then be selected at random to take part in the draw for the major prizes. This successful entrant will be contacted before the main prize draw and will be required to attend the draw on Sunday, November 5.

The main prize draw will feature in an event to celebrate the completion of Zone 1 of the City Centre Renewal, which covers Liebig Street between Raglan Parade and Koroit Street.
