Warrnambool and Moyne Youth Awards

2021 Warrnambool & Moyne Youth Awards LIVESTREAM

In light of the current COVID restrictions, the Moyne Shire Youth Awards working group and Warrnambool Youth Council will be presenting the 2021 Youth Awards presentation ceremony via a livestream event. You can watch the livestream via YouTube or head across the Warrnambool City Council Facebook Page, the Moyne Shire Youth Council or Moyne FReeZA Facebook Pages to view the livestream there.

Join us for a celebration of our region’s young people that includes performance from Evie Dalton, Mel & Tess, Maddie Jackway, and Lily Maglaras.

Awards Values and Criteria

The Youth Awards are divided into three age categories: 12-15 years; 16-18 years; and 19-25 years. In each age category awards will be given to nominees who have exemplified and demonstrated three of the following values through their efforts, attitude, behaviour and performance.

  • Cooperation
  • Resilience
  • Responsibility
  • Kindness
  • Passion

All nominees will be presented with a certificate.
The runners up in each age category will receive a $100 gift voucher, as well as a plaque.
Winners in each age category will receive a $200 award and plaque.

The Nomination Process

Nominations are made through an online application form. You will be required to supply nominee details including email address and contact phone number.
Young people must be nominated by a community member.

We recommend that you discuss the nomination with the young person who is being nominated. Co-writing the nomination form with the nominee is encouraged.

Once nominations have been submitted, the nominee will receive an email and text message with instructions on how to accept their nomination.

The nominee must accept their nomination to be eligible for the award.

Eligibility Criteria

Nominees must be aged between 12 and 25 during the period March 2020 – May 2021

Nominees must either live, work, volunteer or study in the Warrnambool and Moyne municipalities.

Applicants who have moved due to study or work commitments are eligible to enter if they have lived, worked, volunteered or studied in the Warrnambool and Moyne Local Government Areas during 2020 - 2021

Emphasis is given to actions, behaviours and achievements that demonstrate the selected values during 2020 – 2021. The nomination can be supported by examples outside of this time period.

Privacy Statement

The personal information requested on the Youth Award nomination form is being collected by Warrnambool City Council for the purpose of the Warrnambool and Moyne Youth Awards or any other directly related purpose. The personal information will also be disclosed to Moyne Shire Council, the Warrnambool Youth Council, and Moyne Shire Youth Award Working Group for the purpose of assessing, finalising, and promoting the Warrnambool and Moyne Youth Awards. It will not be disclosed to any other external party without your consent, unless required or authorised by law. If the personal information is not collected, the nominee will be ineligible to participate in the Warrnambool and Moyne Youth Award.
