Hop along to Day on the Hill this Easter

Day on the Hill is set to return to Flagstaff Hill on Easter Sunday following a one year absence, with tickets now on sale.

Flagstaff Hill Manager Paul Pinkerton said that everyone at Flagstaff Hill was looking forward to the reinstatement of the much-loved annual event.

“The volume of enquiries we’ve had already this year has been huge, so we are expecting a great turnout on Easter Sunday,” he said.

“The $2.95 million redevelopment has paved the way for more activity in the village and better events.

“Day on the Hill has traditionally been an event embraced by both locals and visitors. In previous years Surfside Holiday Park has been almost deserted on Easter Sunday with everyone coming to Flagstaff Hill to join in the family-friendly fun.”

Mr Pinkerton said the event aimed to offer an array of activities for children of all ages in a lively atmosphere.

“We will have 4000 Cadbury Easter eggs hidden around the village for a series of egg hunts for different age groups,” he said.

“With food stalls, an animal farm, kids’ activities and face painting, Flagstaff Hill is the perfect location to set up a picnic, listen to live music and relax on Easter Sunday.”

Tom Richardson will be filling the village with music, along with open mic slots for up-and-coming local talent.

People with a 3280 postcode are eligible for a 30 per cent discount by signing up for a free Local Membership, meaning family tickets can be purchased for $24.50, adult tickets for $10.50, concession tickets for $8.40 and child tickets for $3.50.

Those who don’t live in Warrnambool can book by March 23 to secure their 30 per cent early bird discount.

“We encourage everyone to book their tickets and collect their wristbands as early as possible to make sure that they spend less time in line at reception and more time enjoying their day in the village,” Mr Pinkerton said.

“Our VIP memberships include entry to Day on the Hill and New Year’s Eve on the Hill, along with heaps of other great benefits, so if you’ll be in Warrnambool for both Easter and New Year, this option provides very good value.”
