Warrnambool City Council has released a draft Port of Warrnambool Asset Management Plan for public comment.

The Plan covers maintenance of the Port of Warrnambool infrastructure and also considers long-term planning and the sustainable management of this infrastructure.

The Asset Management Plan is supplemented by two additional documents: the Port of Warrnambool Operations Review Report and the Port of Warrnambool Breakwater Assessment Report.

“A major recommendation arising from the Plan is for the installation of rock armouring along the sea side of the main breakwater. This has an initial cost estimate of $5.4 million ±30 per cent,” Director City Infrastructure Scott Cavanagh said.

The development of the Asset Management Plan and the supplementary documents was funded by the Victorian Government.

Council is now seeking community feedback on the Asset Management Plan.
