News Article Date:
Wednesday, 12 November 2014

You are invited to join in the pool party that will be the 2014 Energy Australia AquaZone Open Day!

From 10am-2pm on Sunday November 16 the centre’s aquatic facilities will be free to the public.

The outdoor 50m pool will be freshly filled and ready for another summer.

All of AquaZone’s inflatable attractions (the aqua-joust, water running barrels, giant outdoor slide and giant swing) will be in operation as well as a dunk tank.

2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist Mack Horton will be in attendance to run a special Learn to Swim session.

With two custom-built Learn to Swim pools, AquaZone’s award-winning Learn to Swim program caters for the little ones just starting out through to more the advanced swimmer.

AquaZone Service Manager Ray Smith said that all of the staff were looking forward to Open Day and another busy summer period.

“The AquaZone Open Day is the unofficial start of summer for Warrnambool," Mr Smith said.

"With the addition of the new giant swing to the other inflatable equipment, this year will have more of a theme park feel.

“It will be a great opportunity for those who want to dip their toe in before jumping into a swim membership or our Learn to Swim program.”

Smartphone users will also want to download the brand-new, free AquaZone app. The app features group fitness timetables, pool opening hours and social media integration.

App users never need to worry about forgetting their membership card as they can load a virtual version into the app.

On Open Day, app users will have the chance to enter raffles via the app with push notifications sent to the winners.
