Warrnambool War Memorial

ANZAC Day 2021

News Article Date:
Thursday, 22 April 2021

Due to COVID-19 restrictions limiting the number of attendees at the event, the RSL requests that members of the general public participate in "Light Up The Dawn" by lighting a candle and standing in their driveway, balcony or living room to observe a minute’s silence at 6am to commemorate all veterans who have served and are serving now.

A live stream of the Warrnambool ANZAC Day service will be available to view on the Warrnambool RSL, the Warrnambool City Council and the Fitz Media Productions Facebook pages. The service commences at 6.30am.

To ensure the safety of the participants and the community, temporary changes to traffic conditions and vehicle access in certain areas of the Warrnambool CBD will be implemented.

Warrnambool City Council will be working with the RSL, Falcon Traffic and VicRoads to ensure the control of traffic for this event is conducted in a safe manner.

The following roads will be closed from 4am-8am on Thursday April 25:
- Liebig Street between Smith Avenue and Merri Street
- Merri Street from Gilles Street to Banyan Street
- Artillery Crescent (Cannon Hill)
