Koroit and Liebig Street intersection works commencing soon

From March 7 to 9, the relocation of water valves will occur during split shifts at the Liebig Street, Koroit Street intersection.

Daytime work will be contained to the footpath allowing through traffic.

Night works at the Koroit Street-Liebig Street intersection will take place after hours (between 7pm and 5am) and will require a full intersection closure.

Work is also set to begin on demolishing old footpath and starting on a new footpath along the western side of Liebig Street between Koroit and Lava streets.

The construction team will work split shifts, removing existing footpath to within 1.5m of buildings during the day.

A night shift crew will work on establishing new services to buildings.

“Once we’ve established the new service connections we can start pouring concrete slabs on which the new paving will be placed,” Mr Storey said.

“The slabs will be poured in 15m sections and it is planned to pour up to three sections in one morning.

“While the concrete is curing some shop openings may be delayed for an hour or two.

“Pedestrians will be redirected safely through the works and access to the shops will be re-established as soon as practical.

Signs will be in place advising motorists and pedestrians of any changed conditions.
